Local Government Elections are important in fostering local democracy and
with this in mind President Granger has recommitted to having these elections held when they are due.He pointed out that the coalition government, in keeping with Guyana’s constitution, was able to restore local democracy in 2016 after a gap of decades since, LGE was last held in the country.
