Sixty (60) eager landowners of Section Two – Great Diamond, East Bank Demerara, were able to identify and proudly stamp their name posts on their house lots earlier today.
The lot identification exercise was led by the Surveys Unit of the Ministry of Housing and Water – Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA). A number of the allottees expressed contentment with the land. They stated that the land promotes their independence, as they can now move forward with homebuilding and put an end to their days of renting and living with relatives.
First phase infrastructure works such as land clearing, road and drainage networks have been completed in the low-income scheme, as the Ministry aims to deliver serviced house lots to all Guyanese.
The scheme is strategically positioned as it is bordered by the new Eccles to Great Diamond Interlink Road and the incoming Eccles to Great Diamond Four-lane Highway. It is also nearby to a section of low-income homes being constructed by CHPA. Other persons who have been allocated in the area can look forward to being contacted by the agency for a similar exercise.
