 As local health authorities continue to grapple with the migration of nurses to the  United Kingdom and other countries, one prominent contributor to this disturbing phenomenon is Guyana’s inability to compete with salaries and incentives being offered to nurses outside of Guyana. The Guyana Nurses Association holds the view that while it is a fact that nurses need improved remuneration, non-monetary incentives can also aid in retaining the nurses.
