Two men who had in their possession a large quantity of suspected narcotics narrowly escaped being nabbed by police on Wednesday morning.
According to the Police, whilst on patrol, in the Parker Street Providence area, they observed two known males at a koker with a bulky plastic bag each in their hands who began to act suspiciously.
The ranks then proceeded in the direction of the men who threw the bags into nearby bushes and escaped on foot.
The ranks retrieved the bags and observed the contents to be several transparent plastic bags with suspected cannabis.
The suspected narcotics was taken to the Golden Grove Police Station where it was weighed and amounted to 14.497 kg
An investigation is ongoing.
