A 45-year-old man narrowly escaped the jaws of death on Sunday (yesterday) after he allegedly attempted to take his own life while he was consuming alcohol at his residence in Corentyne, Berbice.
According to a police statement, the man is currently “experiencing marital difficulties” and on the day in question, he commenced imbibing then consumed a suspected poisonous substance, then resumed imbibing.
“He was found vomiting on his stairs and was taken to the hospital by a visiting relative where he was treated.He immediately took self-discharge and left the medical facility. Police investigations continue despite zero cooperation from the victim and relatives.”
