On Thursday, officers from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) arrested 45 years old Ian Griffith, of North East La Penitence after he was as nabbed with two parcels of suspected cocaine. The man was arrested following an operation between Ruby and Den Amstel on the East Bank Essequibo.
He was escorted to CANU’s Headquarters along with the suspected narcotics, which tested positive for cocaine and had a total of 2.330kg with a street value of $2.6 million Gyds.
Investigations are ongoing.
