CANU Officers said they found 3 three bulky plastic-wrapped parcels of cannabis after stopping a vehicle Sunday.
CANU Ranks was at the time conducting operations in No. 59 Village Beach Front, Corentyne Berbice. During the surveillance, a motor car with a sole occupant was stopped and the parcels of suspected narcotics were discovered. The 48-year-old was arrested and escorted to the CANU’s Berbice Office, along with the suspected narcotics. He was later transferred to CANU HQ along with the suspected narcotics, where it was tested and proven to be cannabis weighing a total of 38.8kg (85.53 lbs) with a street value of approximately $11,640,000.00 GYD.
