A 21 year old man was beaten, shot and robbed at Punt Trench Dam, Independence Boulevard. Ronald Sackoon reported that the incident occurred while he was awaiting a bus to travel home. He had reportedly spent the night at a friend’s house in the surrounding areas.
The man, who is a pork knocker, said that he was attacked from behind by the three bandits, who after accosting him, started to unleash a beating on him, including gun butting him to his face. He said he was then shot to his arm and the men proceeded to strip him of a gold ring, blackberry Z 10 cellular phone, a pair of boots and $17 000 cash.
The man apparently lost consciousness for awhile since he didn’t become aware until after being rescued by public spirited citizens and ranks of the GPF. The man was taken to the GPHC for treatment and the matter was reported to the police.
