MAN DIES IN WEST COAST BERBICE ACCIDENT

  • Mishap happened after overtaking minibus

Another life has been lost in yet another tragic road accident. Dead is Dilchand Angad, a 28 year old of Plantation Hope, West Coast Berbice, who reportedly met his demise on the no. 10 Public Road, West Coast Berbice. According to reports, Angad was riding a CBR 500 motorcycle at high speeds, but when he got to the No. 10 Roadway, he overtook a minibus.

Overtaking the minibus brought him into the path of an approaching motor lorry that was travelling in the opposite direction. Angad attempted to avert a collision with the oncoming lorry but was unsuccessful in doing so. Rather, he lost control of the motorcycle and fell to the corner of the road, hitting his head on a huge rock in the process.

A police press release stated that Angad died after he overtook a minibus and collided with a motor lorry that was travelling in the opposite direction. He was taken to the Fort Wellington Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Angad reportedly received several injuries to his head and other parts of his body. He leaves to mourn his wife and other relatives.
