A 20-year-old male of Rose Hall Town, Berbice Corentyne is now in police custody after the cops discovered cannabis leaves, seeds and stems on his person during a ‘cordon and search’ exercise conducted on Thursday (yesterday) in Rose Hall, Berbice.
According to a statement from the police, ranks were in search of narcotics and wanted persons, as well as stolen articles, arms and ammunition when the unemployed male was subjected to a search.
“He was arrested and taken to the Whim Police Station where the suspected cannabis which amounts to 21.5 grams, was weighed in his presence. A written statement claiming ownership of the suspected cannabis was given by the suspect who remains in custody.”
