A 27-year-old male was arrested after he attempted to flee from the cops with a plastic bag containing a quantity of Ziploc bags, each of which contained marijuana (ganja), along with another bag that allegedly contained cocaine.
According a police statement, on Thursday (yesterday) ranks from the Police Regional Division Four ‘C’, were in Mon-Repos South, East Coast Demerara (ECD), when they observed the suspect sitting on a bench with a black plastic bag in his hands, “acting in a suspicious manner.”
“Upon seeing the ranks, he ran into an abandoned yard where he was apprehended with the bag in his hands. A quantity of Ziploc bags containing seeds, leaves, and stems and a transparent bag containing a hard rock whitish substance suspected to be cocaine. He was arrested and taken to the Beterverwagting Police Station, where the suspected cannabis and cocaine were weighed and amounted to 69 grams and 13 grams respectively.”
Additionally, $32,000 in cash was lodged at that Police Station.
Investigations continue.
