Cops are on the hunt for a man who allegedly had sex with his underage female relative repeatedly over the course of three (3) months to date and has now gone into hiding after the matter was brought to the attention of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Tuesday (yesterday).
According to a statement from the GPF, the matter was reported to the cops around 12:30h Tuesday (yesterday), by a female relative of the teenager.
HGP Nightly News understands that the alleged crime took place in Region One (Barima-Waini).
Reports are that the suspect began engaging in sexual activity with the girl, who is below the age of 16, during the month of December, last year, and continued to do so repeatedly during the past few months.
“The minor eventually confided to a female relative who immediately reported the matter to the police on the date and time above. Child Care and Protection Agency (CCPA) is now handling the matter as police launch a search for the suspect. Active investigation,” the police added.
