A 24-year-old man was hauled before the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court, Berbice, on Friday (yesterday) where he was slapped with a Break & Enter and Larceny charge for an offence committed last year (2020) then placed on $200,000 bail.
Richard Chase of Lot 231 Bristol Street, #2 Village, East Canje, Berbice, made his first (1st) Court appearance before Magistrate Renita Singh in relation to the offence which is said to have been committed between June 14 and June 15, 2020.
According to a police statement, the Charge was laid under Section 229(a) of the Criminal Law (Office) Act Chapter 8:01 and Chase was placed on $200,000 bail.
The case has been postponed to June 1, 2021.
