Man seriously injured after being chopped twice while en route to home

A 35-year-old man is now nursing two (2) chop wounds to his hand after he was attacked by two (2) men while walking along the Bamia Trail, Amelia’s Ward, Linden, to get to his home.

His attackers left him bleeding on the ground after they committed the act and the man was later rescued from a worse fate after a farmer who had been travelling along the same route discovered him there.

The seriously injured man has been identified as Junior Lewis called “Yankee” of the above-mentioned location.

HGP Nightly News understands that the incident occurred between Tuesday and Wednesday at the Bamia Trail.

Reports are that on Tuesday night, Lewis was heading home when the perpetrators attacked him and dealt two (2) chop to his left hand before fleeing the scene.

On Wednesday around 09:00h, a farmer who used the same trail to go about his daily business noticed Lewis’ body along the trail and immediately summoned police ranks to the scene.

When investigators arrived there, they reported that they noticed two (2) gaping wounds on Lewis’ left hand and rushed him to the Linden Hospital Complex for emergency medical attention.

He was admitted at that medical facility and is said to be in a serious condition.

Investigations into the matter are in progress.
