Man stabbed multiple times after intervening in row between woman, reputed husband in shop

A man, who intervened in a row between another man and his reputed wife, was stabbed several times about his body by the woman’s spouse, who had been armed with a cutlass and a knife while arguing with the woman in the now injured man’s workplace.

The injured worker has been identified as Ryan Jones of Riverstown and the incident is said to have occurred on Sunday at the Sand Hill Landing, Mazaruni, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni).

HGP Nightly News understands that the suspect called “Plait Hair” is currently on the run from the cops.

According to a police statement, Jones is employed at a shop located at Sand Hill Landing and on the day in question, the man and his reputed wife were engaged in a heated argument outside of Jones’ place of employment.

However, as the row intensified, the couple entered the shop and continued their argument there.

“The victim then intervened in the said argument and warned the suspect about his behaviour. The suspect, who was at the time armed with a cutlass and a knife, then became annoyed and dealt the victim several stabs to his body causing him to receive injuries and thereafter he made good his escape. The victim was then assisted by persons in the area and he was accompanied to the Bartica Public Hospital where he was seen and examined by a doctor who treated him for his injuries and admitted him as a patient of the said hospital.”

Investigations into the matter are presently ongoing as the cops intensify their hunt for “Plait Hair.”
