Man stabbed to thumb, foot, lower back during heated argument

A 35-year-old man was stabbed three (3) times about his body, in the presence of his sister, by another man with whom he had a misunderstanding in the wee hours of Good Friday (yesterday).

The injured man has been identified as Marlon Scott of Onderneeming Sand Pit, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).

HGP Nightly News understands that the stabbing took place around 03:00h at the above-mentioned village.

Reports are that on the day in question, Scott and the suspect became involved in a heated argument and the perpetrator allegedly whipped out a knife from the waist of his pants.

He quickly dealt Scott a stab to his right thumb, one (1) stab to Scott’s right foot and another to the right side lower back in front of the man’s sister.

According to the police, the injured man is presently hospitalized and in a stable condition.

Meanwhile, the suspect was arrested, told of the allegation and cautioned.

He is currently in custody pending charges at the Aurora Police Station, Essequibo.
