A man that allegedly gun-butted another and fired several shots at an injured man on Sunday at the Parika Fisheries compound has since been arrested by police. The incident occurred around 23:30 hours
The victim told police that the perpetrator approached him and enquired about the whereabouts of another but after he was ignored. This angered the man who pulled out what appeared to be a .38 revolver and lashed the victim to his face. The victim managed to flee the area, but mentioned that he heard three loud explosions like gunshots whilst fleeing the area.
A report was made at the Parika Police Station and acting on information ranks went to a Parika Stelling Road property where the suspect was apprehended. He remains in custody as further investigations continue.
