Convicted murderer Mark Royden Williams, known as ‘Smallie,’ on Friday escaped from the Mazaruni Prison.
HGP Nightly News understands that Williams escaped from the Mazaruni Prison with the assistance of external persons.
Director of the Guyana Police Force’s (GPF) Corporate Communications Unit (CCU ), Mark Ramotar, confirmed that there was a search at the prison, and several prohibited items were found and confiscated.
Williams is currently on death row for killing 12 persons during the 2008 Bartica Massacre. He was convicted for the murder of Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Corporal Ivor Williams.
In 2017, Williams escaped from the prison at Camp Street, Georgetown, during a riot.
