Temika Rodney now reports that the identification of confirmed cases of monkeypox among two persons without any travel history outside of Guyana is typical; hence, a local Medical Microbiologist believes that health authorities should establish a robust surveillance system that takes into account the various modes of transmission of the virus and allows for humans and animals to be tested.
