Vice President, Bharrat Jagdeo, officially launched the government’s part-time jobs initiative on Tuesday in lRegion Two, which will see 2,000 persons benefitting.
Addressing the beneficiaries of the government’s part-time jobs initiative, the Vice President called on them to perform their duties respectfully and to use the opportunity as a launch pad for greater job opportunities.
He was at the time speaking during the contract signing held at the Charity Secondary School where hundreds gathered.
On Tuesday, successful applicants signed a one-year contract. From June 1 they will begin work. Their contact will come to an end on May 2023.
The Vice President also addressed concerns raised by residents.
