A motorbike collision has left a young Bartica youth dead and his friend nursing several injuries. Dead is Alden Straker and his injured friend has been identified as 21 year old Gary Rodriguez. According to reports, the two were returning from a waterfall some distance away and were on the Bartica Potaro road when they accidentally collided.
The accident resulted in Straker receiving a fracture to his skull, and eventually succumbed. His friend is said to be a patient at the GPHC and is nursing a fractured femur and multiple facial lacerations. The wrecked motorcycles were recovered by ranks of the police force. They were said to be somewhere on the Bartica Potaro Road.
