Motorcyclist, 27, dies after colliding with dog on Rupert Craig Highway

Shamar Frank Wilson, a 27-year-old of Lot 85 Quamina Street, Georgetown, died in the wee hours of Saturday after colliding with a dog and losing control of his motorcycle on the Rupert Craig Highway near the Infectious Diseases Hospital. 

HGP Nightly News understands that the incident occurred at about 03:00 h, and Wilson was riding motorcycle CM 1892. 

Reports are that Wilson was proceeding west along the southern carriageway of Rupert Craig Highway when a dog ran across the road and into the motorcycle’s path. 

The front centre portion of the motorcycle collided with the dog, and the motorcyclist lost control and fell onto the roadway. 

He was picked up in an unconscious condition by an Ambulance and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. 

The body is awaiting a Post Mortem Examination (PME) at the hospital’s mortuary. Further investigations are ongoing.
