Motorcyclist Hospitalized after reportedly slamming into car

A motorcyclist, Nicholas Ramgoolam of #72 Village Corentyne Berbice is now critical after his motorcycle #CH 4777 collided with Motorcar #HC 6235 driven by Varendra Lackraj of Grant 1803 Crabwood Creek Corentyne Berbice on Thursday at about 17:10hours.

Police say that the  motorcar was proceeding north along the western drive lane on #66 Public Road Corentyne, Berbice at a normal rate of speed ahead of Ramgoolam when the driver of the car  alleged that he put on his right side indicator to turn east into #66 Access Road and he felt an impact to the rear of his vehicle.

As a result of the impact the driver of the car stopped, came out of his vehicle and that is when he observed the motorcyclist lying on the road surface in a conscious condition with visible injuries about his body.

Ramgoolam was picked up by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Skeldon Public Hospital where he was seen and examined by a doctor on duty who treated and referred him to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where he was further seen and examined and admitted a patient, suffering from injuries about his head.

The driver of the motorcar is presently in custody at Springlands Police Station assisting with investigations.
A breathalyzer test was conducted on him and the same recorded zero.
