A 21 year old man was killed last evening, after his motorcycle collided with a car on the West Coast of Demerara. Dead is Royshan Cook, of Goed Fortuin Village on the West Bank of Demerara.
Reports indicate that Cook was proceeding east along the roadway at Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara on motorcycle CE 4343 when he collided with motorcar PNN 5924, which was in the process of turning.
Sources reportedly claimed the driver of the car failed to indicate that he was about to make a turn, which caused Cook to swerve, so as to not hit the car. It was this movement that caused Cook to hit the mirror of the car and spiraled out of control. Cook’s motorcycle then collided with another car which was heading in the opposite direction.
The motorcyclist reportedly died on the spot. The police are continuing their investigations and both drivers are reportedly assisting them.
