As of October 01, 2014, passport applicants will be able to uplift their passports from designated locations. The Guyana Police Force, in an advisory, is informing persons that there are now other locations through which passports can be collected other than the Central Immigration and Passport Office Georgetown.
The new locations where applicants can uplift their passports are as follows;
- Central Police Station, New Amsterdam
- Mackenzie Police Station
- Parika Police Station
- Bartica Police Station
- Anna Regina Immigration Office
- Lethem Immigration Office at the Multi Purpose Complex
However, persons are required to indicate on their application, the location that they would like to uplift their passport from, providing it’s not at the Central immigration and Passport Office. Passports sent to locations other than the Passport Office in Georgetown, will remain there for two months. This is not the case for passports sent to Lethem, since applicants there have three months to claim their documents.
This move is geared towards providing the Guyanese public with a more convenient and time sensitive service.
