NO ONE ARRESTED YET IN CONNECTION WITH 24 YEAR OLD NORTON STREET MAN’S DEATH

The death of Carlos DeShawn Waithe has made headlines and has sent his loved ones into mourning.

According to Police Headquarters, no one has been arrested so far.

On Monday, Police released some more information about what transpired in the wee hours of the morning that lead to Carlos Waithe, aged 24-years being in cold storage.

It is said that clothes vendor of lot 2 Norton Street Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, and several friends were consuming alcohol earlier in the night in Charlestown. Waithe informed his friends that he was heading to a popular bar and left.

According to police investigators, the now deceased, around 04:00 hours, the now dead man showed up at a popular bar on Breda Street in the company of another male. That person then became involved in an argument with several males at the bar which caused him to run east on Leopold Street towards Smyth Street. The men gave chase during which several explosions (suspected to be gunshots) were heard.

Carlos Waithe subsequently ran behind the men saying “y’all can’t shoot da man”, when the men turned on him. An argument ensued and two more suspected gunshots were heard and Waithe fell to the ground.

The injured man was picked up and taken to Woodlands Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Investigations continue.
