A 28-year-old driver was in the wee hours of Friday busted with 37 grams of marijuana in the compartment of a tractor at Onderneeming Sand Pit, Essequibo Coast.
Reports are that at about 00:35h, ranks were on patrol in the area when they observed motor tractor TR 26837 transporting perishable items.
As a result, the tractor, which was driven by Munesh Bissessar of Dry Shore Village, Essequibo Coast, was stopped and searched.
During the search, a transparent plastic bag containing a quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis was unearthed in a compartment of the tractor.
Bissessar was told of the offence committed and said, “Officer, is a small-time hustler.”
He was arrested and escorted to the Suddie Police Station, where he remains in custody pending charges.
