On Wednesday, Opposition Member Sherod Duncan was suspended from the next four sittings of the National Assembly after repeated warnings from the Speaker Manzoor Nadir.
Duncan had an outburst following comments made by the Minister of Local Government and Regional Development Nigel Dharamlall.
After ignoring the requests of the speak to take his seat, Nadir asked the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Governance, Gail Teixeira, to move a motion for Duncan be suspended. All votes were cast in favor of the motion of suspending funding in the grounds that his behavior came as a “disrespect to you as Speaker.”
