Over 5,000 applications received for GOAL so far

Since the application process began, the GOAL’s 2022 scholarship programme has recieved over 5,000 applications as of February 9, 2022. The deadline for the application process closes on Friday, February 18, 2022.


The figure, stated Professor Jacob Opadeyi, GOAL’s Director, represents an interest in Guyanese to advance their academic and professional ambition.


Over 180 programmes will be offered through collaboration with fifteen universities this year, and range from Certificate courses to PhDs in various sectors, including food and beverage, agriculture, arts, health care management, oil and gas management, education development, engineering management among several others.
“We have programmes for all academic backgrounds; even if you have no formal qualifications, there are programmes available for you,” he added. “All the programmes and their eligibility criteria are listed on our website www.goal.edu.gy.” said Professor Opadeyi.
In an effort to mimimize being declared “ineligible” for the scholarship, all potential applicants are encouraged to carefully peruse the eligibility criteria before selecting their programmes of choice. Applicants were further advised to register and apply using a tablet, laptop, or desktop computer rather than a mobile phone.
