An overseas-based Guyanese met his demise on Sunday following an accident at Versailles Public Road, West Bank Demerara (WBD).
Dead is 32-year-old Krishnadat Lochan of Goed Fortuin. The accident occurred at about 22:30h.
According to reports, Lochan was driving motorcar PVV 2319 with two male occupants inside.
The vehicle was proceeding south along the road, allegedly at a fast speed, and Lochan reportedly lost control of the car and collided with a culvert on the western side of the road.
As a result, the motorcar toppled and stopped in the trench on the western side of the road.
Subsequently, 32-year-old Lochan, along with the two occupants, were pulled out of the submerged vehicle by public-spirited persons.
Lochan, unconscious with visible injuries on his body, was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Lochan’s body is at the Eziekel Funeral Parlor awaiting a Post Mortem Examination (PME). Further investigations are ongoing.
