PLAISANCE VENDORS ISSUED REMOVAL ORDER SAYS NO DICE, CONSULTATION NEEDED

The residents and council members of Plaisance, East Coast Demerara, have firmly stated that “it will not be business as usual” unless consultations are held. This comes after vendors, who have been operating their stalls on the railway embankment, received a notice from the Ministry of Public Works instructing them to remove their stalls within seven days.

The recent notice issued by the Ministry of Public Works to vendors in Plaisance has sparked discontent among the local community. The residents and council members believe that their concerns and opinions should be considered before deciding to remove the stalls. Renata Burnette has the details in the following report.
