PLANE CRASHES OFF THE COAST OF ST. MAARTEN

– One body recovered- other still missing.

The Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard is searching off St. Maarten for the co-pilot of a small US-based cargo plane that crashed into the sea late Wednesday shortly after takeoff.
Rescue and Recovery services have recovered the body of one of the two pilots who were on board the Skyway Enterprises plane when it went down about three miles from shore. The body was said to be found between Mullet Bay and Cupecoy. The other pilot has not yet been found.
“A Skyway Enterprises Shorts SD-360 on behalf of FedEx, registration N380MQ performing flight SKZ-7101 from Saint Maarten (Dutch Antilles) to San Juan (Puerto Rico) with 2 crew members, was climbing out of Saint Maarten’s runway 28 when the aircraft lost height and impacted waters about 2 nm off the coast (end of runway) at about 18:35L (22:35)”, an official release stated. The cause of the crash is unknown.
Private volunteers and Netherlands Royal Marines are taking part in the search.
