Three men are in police custody after they were found with four blank COVID-19 vaccination books, 17 stamped sick leave forms among other medical items. According to reports on Tuesday, two suspects one after the other went to a nurse attached to the Vreed-en-Hoop Health Centre with two blank COVID-19 vaccination books, requesting it to be stamped. They went on to tell her that a third suspect is waiting to take them to the Diamond Hospital. She immediately brought the issue to the attention of her supervisor after the request, who subsequently reported the matter to the Vreed-en-Hoop Police Station. The men were later arrested and taken to the Vreed-en-Hoop Police station where they were questioned. Police later searched the motorcar of the third suspect and found one black and gold stethoscope, seventeen blank sick leave forms which were all stamped with the West Demerara Regional Hospital stamp, and one blue Vaccine book which was not stamped bearing the name and address of a person. In the third suspect’s presence, Police conducted further searches at his home which unearthed one machine for testing pressure and a machine for sugar testing in his bedroom. He was questioned about the items and stated that he bought them in Georgetown, but he could not produce any receipt for the items in which they were seized.
