A 40-year-old pregnant housewife is now dead after she allegedly collapsed on a boat in the wee hours of Sunday (yesterday) while her husband was rushing her to obtain medical attention.
Dead is Beverly Bumbury called “Ulits”, a mother of seven (7), who lived at Bonasika, Essequibo River, with her spouse and children prior to her demise.
HGP Nightly News understands that the pregnant woman was travelling to seek medical care around 01:00h, after complaining of feeling unwell, when the tragedy occurred.
Her husband, 45-year-old farmer, Ray Bumbury, told the police that after his now dead spouse repeatedly complained about being unwell, he decided to take her to the hospital.
He noted that she had been suffering from hypertension.
According to a police statement, the man and his now dead wife departed Bonasika via boat.
“The man related that during their journey on the river his wife continued to experience discomfort and on arrival at the Hubu landing (on the East Bank of the Essequibo River) she appeared to have lost consciousness. A report was made to the Police and efforts were made to rush her to the hospital. She was examined by a doctor on duty and pronounced dead on arrival.”
The cops noted that the body was examined for any marks of violence but none were seen.
Investigations continue.
