During a community engagement on Sunday, President Irfaan Ali assured residents of Corentyne that the government will move to expand the education sector in the region—creating new opportunities for skills training and employment, especially for young people.
The Head of State emphasized the importance of aligning education with economic transformation, noting that investments in technical and vocational training, as well as higher learning, will equip youth in the area to thrive in both traditional and emerging industries.
“We are building an education system that will open doors for every young person—whether in agriculture, health, engineering, or ICT,” President Ali said.
The planned expansion includes upgraded facilities, improved teacher training, and stronger partnerships with local industries to ensure graduates are workforce-ready.
