As the Muslim community in Guyana prepares to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday, President Irfaan Ali has called on believers to uphold the core values of moderation, empathy, and justice—principles he says are crucial not only to the Islamic faith but also to national unity and harmony.
In his Eid message, the Head of State extended warm greetings to the Muslim community and praised the spirit of reflection, sacrifice, and devotion displayed during the holy month of Ramadan. He noted that Eid is not only a time of joy and celebration but a moment to reaffirm one’s commitment to compassion, generosity, and the pursuit of justice for all.
“Let this celebration remind us of our shared responsibility to build a society where kindness, respect, and fairness prevail,” President Ali stated.
Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan and is one of the most significant events on the Islamic calendar. Across the country, preparations are underway as families get ready for prayers, feasting, and giving to the less fortunate.
