PRESIDENT AND OPPOSITION LEADER TO MEET IN JANUARY

The President and the Opposition Leader will meet in early January to discuss the way forward, following that opposition piloted successful December 21, No-Confidence motion. However, the Opposition Leader is saying that false hope is being created in some corners. More in this report from Handell Duncan .

Despite other views, the Outcome of that No- Confidence Motion passed against the Government is now clear according to Opposition leader .

The Opposition Leader told a Monday News conference, that the Clerk of the National Assembly has since written to him.

Jagdeo has urged that there is a meeting between the Government and the Opposition very early. In fact, that meeting is set to take place after the return of President David Granger from Cuba. The President will leave on Christmas day for another round of Chemotherapy.

Jagdeo said that he has indicated to party members that it should not be a matter that they should be triumphalist about. Meanwhile, the Opposition Leader has come public condemning the actions of the Venezuelan Navy. Over the weekend, a ship, while conducting, seismic explorations on behalf of ExxonMobil in the western portion of Guyana’s Stabroek Block, was intercepted by the Venezuelan Navy.
