A 25-year-old inmate at the Mazaruni Prison, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) who was serving 56 months there for Robbery Under Arms, managed to escape the lockups on Friday (yesterday) and is still on the run.
The convict has been identified as Kevin LaFleur, whose last known address is listed as 84 Providence Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara.
According to a police statement, the prisoner made good his escape around 13:15h on Friday.
“The escapee allegedly made a run for his freedom into the bushes aback the prisons. Prison officers scoured the area but did not locate the escapee. A Joint Services team is currently scouring the area.”
