Since Thursday, the 3rd of February, 2022, trucks drivers transporting sand to East Berbice are breathing a sigh of relief after the implementation of new and reduced freight charges. The Berbice Bridge Company Inc. (BBCI) announced on Friday that the freight charges will now be $2,000 for Medium Trucks (single axle) and $4,000 for Large Trucks (double axles).
This will remain in place until further notice.
