SOD TURNED FOR $11.4B STATE- OF-THE- ART WEST DEMERARA REGIONAL HOSPITAL

$11.4 Billion Investment in Guyana’s Healthcare Infrastructure:

The Government of Guyana has officially turned the sod for the construction of the $11.4 billion state-of-the-art West Demerara Regional Hospital.

The new facility, set to enhance healthcare services in Region Three, will feature modern medical equipment, expanded patient care units, and specialized treatment services, aligning with the government’s push to modernize the public health sector.

Once completed, the West Demerara Regional Hospital will serve as a central hub for medical care, reducing the strain on Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) and providing better access to healthcare for thousands of residents.

Tiana Cole has more on this significant development.
