A couple residing along the Linden/Soesdyke Highway is pleading for urgent intervention from authorities as they continue to endure repeated harassment, threats, and acts of vandalism linked to an ongoing family land dispute.
Rawleston Benjamin and his wife, Alphea Cesear, who occupy a portion of land belonging to Cesear’s family, reported to HGPTV News that their problems began shortly after deciding to establish a small business to generate income.
Benjamin explained that since then, they have been constantly targeted by Cesear’s siblings.
“They keep pelting stones, they keep threatening us, they keep breaking our place; they keep doing a lot of things to her—which is her sisters them,” Benjamin told HGPTV.
He further stated that Cesear’s relatives claim to have secured a restraining order preventing his wife from entering the family yard. According to Benjamin, this was followed by a forceful entry into their shop, after which numerous items were reportedly removed.
“I have a list with quotations—everything we had in the shop is gone. It’s in Fabrica’s place. She has no bills, nothing to prove she bought these things,” Benjamin asserted.
Benjamin further alleged that this behavior was not unusual for Cesear’s sister, claiming she had previously carried out similar actions against a neighbor.
“She do a previous neighbor, she do them the same thing—break down their shop four o’clock in the morning, carry away the things, put it in her shop,” he stated.
The situation reportedly escalated to the point of physical violence against Cesear, who recounted being assaulted by her family members.
The couple is now calling on law enforcement and relevant authorities to take swift action to protect their safety, property, and livelihood.
