A quarrel between two vendors of the Stabroek Market Square ended on Tuesday afternoon with one of them being viciously stabbed to death .
Dead is 35-year-old Robert Bizzette of Cane View Avenue, South Ruimveldt
His assailant another vendor , 46-year-old male, is in police custody assisting with investigations
According to the Police on Tuesday afternoon at about 16:30hrs, Bizzette and the vendor had an argument over the placement of Bizzette’s stall during which he pulled out a “jucker” and threatened the vendor.
The argument continued and Bizzette armed himself with an axe and chased the vendor, who was also armed with a knife.
Police said the vendor fell down and Bizzette walked away, during which the vendor got up and stabbed him multiple times.
Practically unstable, Bizzette ran to the police mobile outpost where he collapsed and was immediately escorted to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
The suspect was later arrested at Camp and New Market Streets by an anti-crime patrol.
