Frank Junior Goring, 27, has been taken into Police custody for fatally stabbing his brother on Wednesday night at Lot 75 ‘B’ Sara Lodge, Stewartville, West Coast Demerara (WCD).
Dead is Jermaine Goring, a 35-year-old welder. The murder occurred at about 19:30h.
A Police report stated that at about 16:30h on Wednesday, Jermaine returned home from work and started preparing to cast a water trestle.
At about 19:15h, he asked Frank to fetch sand to mix cement. In the process of fetching the sand, Jermaine chided Frank for being lazy and fetching the sand like a “lamata.”
This resulted in the brothers exchanging words, and the now-deceased man rushed to the suspect and dealt him a cuff.
The suspect, who had a knife in his possession, dealt his brother several stabs to his body, causing him to receive injuries and fall to the ground and become unconscious.
His 60-year-old mother and 61-year-old father rushed Jermain to the Leonora Cottage Hospital, where he died while receiving medical treatment.
The body was escorted to the Ezekiel Funeral Home, awaiting a Post Mortem Examination (PME). The murder weapon was recovered, and the suspect is in Police custody.
