Just hours after Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley landed, the President of the Republic of Suriname, His Excellency Chandrikapersad Santokhi arrived in Guyana on Monday for the ‘International Energy Conference and Expo Guyana.
He was welcomed at the Eugene F. Correia International Airport, Ogle, by Prime Minister, Brigadier (Ret’d), Mark Phillips.
President Santokhi was greeted by a red carpet and a Guard of Honour from the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) just before noon.
Chief of Staff of the Guyana Defence Force, Brigadier Godfrey Bess, Commissioner of Police (ag), Nigel Hoppie and a party of Cabinet Ministers were also present for the arrival ceremony.
