On Wednesday evening, thousands of Guyanese, particularly Essequbians, braved the heavy downpours and flocked the Damon Square in Anna Regina, Region Two, to witness the national flag-raising ceremony to usher in Guyana’s 56th Independence Anniversary, which was held for the very first time in the Cinderella County.
