Three murder accused prisoners flee from Lusignan prison

Three men, all accused of murder, escaped the confines of the Lusignan Penitentiary, East Coast Demerara (ECD) today (Wednesday) and are on the run from law enforcement officials as the police intensify their efforts to recapture the prison escapees.

The three men have been identified as Mark Rafino, Alex Mattias and Arnold Kennedy.

According to the police, Rafino who hails from Queenstown, Georgetown, was charged with the murder of a 43-year-old barber, Dale Troy Hercules while Mattias of Pomona, Essequibo Coast was imprisoned for the murder 23-year-old labourer of Vilvoorden, Essequibo Coast which occurred on December 31, 2018.

Kennedy of Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo (EBE), was charged with the murder of 20-year-old fishermanth Alvin called “Chockoloo” which occurred on July 18, 2019.
