It has been almost three weeks since Guyana started witnessing a massive upsurge in new COVID -19 Infections, which is suspected to be fueled by the highly contagious Omicron Variant. However, unlike many other Caribbean neighbours, local health authorities are yet to do their due diligence in scientifically confirming the presence of the problematic variant. Consequently, if the Health Minister is believed, 50 samples are finally slated to be sent to Trinidad and Tobago for testing this week. More in this Temika Rodney report.
