TO ACHIEVE GENDER EQUALITY, GUYANA MUST TACKLE WAGE GAP AND PREJUDICE AGAINST WOMEN

While  Guyana has achieved some progress in gender equality, there remain deep-rooted disparities in gender norms and societal expectations about acceptable behaviours for women and men. One such disparity is the gender wage gap, which allows women to be paid lower than men for work of equal value. According to Nicole Cole, this is a commissioner attached to the Women and Gender Equality Commission. Temika Rodney reports.
