– A 32-year-old truck driver, Tyron Anthony, from the Essequibo Coast, tragically lost his life in an accident at the Chinese-owned Aurora Gold Mines in Region Seven.
While transporting fuel for the mine’s operations, Anthony, an employee of a contracted company, lost control of the fuel tanker, leading to its capsize and his subsequent fatal injury.
The incident occurred around 17:00 hrs on Monday. Anthony was extracted from the wreckage and pronounced dead at the mine’s health center following an examination by a doctor.
The authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the accident.
