A 21-year-old businessman from Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara (ECD), is in Police custody after being found with a pistol and matching ammunition in the crotch of his pants at a roadblock on the Main Access Road at Triumph, ECD.
Reports are that while performing roadblock duties on Monday, Police stopped a white heavily-tinted Toyota Rumion motorcar bearing licence plate PXX 2117.Â
A search was conducted on the motorcar and the driver and occupants. During the search, Police found a suspected .40 Glock pistol containing four suspected .40 rounds of ammunition in the pants crotch of the businessman.
He was told of the offence committed, cautioned, and escorted to the Beterverwagting Police Station. Investigation is ongoing.
